I can’t see Batman coming out as gay, with what (admittedly little) I know about canon. It just doesn’t fit. I think it’ll be someone else, though god knows who.
The comments on the article are pretty horrific, though. It makes me so mad to think that people will refuse to buy comic books for their kids because one character is canonically gay. I just don’t get it.
I can sort of understand why people would be annoyed about it being done solely for reasons of political correctness. Nobody likes a brown nose. But what if it’s just a natural progression (from the current writer’s POV) of the character and their story? I don’t see the problem, then.
I really don’t get it. Especially when people preface their negative comments with phrases like ‘I am totally cool with whatever people want to do in private BUT…’
But, what, for crying out loud?!
